Last Updated: October 2, 2026

Micom Digital Co., Ltd. (美伉數位科技有限公司, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates SmartBooking (the “Service”), an automated appointment scheduling, identity verification, and transactional notification platform. The Service enables consumers and end-users (“Users”, “you”) to discover, schedule, and manage appointments with independent third-party merchant service providers across web portals, mobile browser interfaces, LINE official account integrations, and automated text messaging (SMS).

We are dedicated to safeguarding your personal data in full compliance with Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA / 個人資料保護法), its Enforcement Rules, and international telecommunications data protection standards (including CTIA and cellular carrier guidelines). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, processing, storage, disclosure, and protection of your personal information.

The legal entity responsible for the collection and processing of personal data under this policy is:

  • Company Name: Micom Digital Co., Ltd. (美伉數位科技有限公司)
  • Registered Address: 4F.-4, No. 79, Sec. 2, Roosevelt Rd., Da’an Dist., Taipei City 106, Taiwan (R.O.C.)
  • Contact Email: inquiry@micomdigital.com.tw

2. Categories of Personal Data Collected

We collect and process only the minimal personal data strictly necessary to facilitate appointment reservations, verify phone number possession, and maintain platform security. The categories of data collected include:

  • Contact and Identity Details: Full legal name, mobile telephone number (e.g., Taiwan E.164 format +886), and optional email address provided during verification or booking intake.
  • Reservation and Scheduling Details: Target service requested, preferred date, appointment time slot, designated merchant location, and any custom transaction notes provided by you.
  • Messaging Platform Data (LINE Integration): LINE User ID, display name, and avatar picture accessed solely through standard LINE Front-end Framework (LIFF) permission scopes (profile, openid) when you access the platform via LINE.
  • Technical and Gateway Logs: IP address, browser user-agent string, device operating system, access timestamps, and telecommunications gateway delivery status metadata (such as delivery timestamps and carrier error codes, utilized exclusively to diagnose non-delivered verification codes).

Article 6 Sensitive Data Exclusion: In accordance with Article 6 of Taiwan’s PDPA, we do not intentionally solicit, collect, or process sensitive personal data (including medical records, genetic data, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or criminal background) unless explicitly mandated by an authorized licensed medical practitioner or applicable law under your separate, explicit written consent.

3. Purposes of Collection, Processing, and Use

Your personal information is collected, processed, and utilized strictly for the following operational business purposes:

  • Booking Management and Fulfillment: Transmitting booking specifications to the selected merchant and maintaining the real-time reservation ledger.
  • Identity Verification via SMS / OTP: Verifying ownership of your mobile number and securing your booking transactions using One-Time Passwords (OTP).
  • Operational Transactional Notifications: Delivering real-time booking confirmations, 24-hour advance appointment reminders, schedule adjustments, or cancellation alerts via Short Message Service (SMS) and/or LINE notifications.
  • Customer Support and Dispute Resolution: Addressing service inquiries, diagnosing OTP delivery issues, and facilitating communication between you and the booked merchant.
  • Statutory and Regulatory Compliance: Fulfilling tax, e-commerce, consumer protection, and commercial recordkeeping obligations under the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

4. Strict Telecommunications Data Privacy Guarantee (SMS Privacy)

We maintain strict telecommunications compliance standards to protect your mobile communications data:

  • No Third-Party Sharing of Mobile Opt-In Data:
Your mobile telephone number, SMS messaging consent status, and opt-in records will never be sold, rented, leased, licensed, traded, or shared with third parties, marketing networks, or commercial affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes under any circumstances.
  • Purely Transactional Communications: Text messages delivered by the Service are exclusively non-promotional and transactional (such as OTP verification codes and scheduled booking reminders). We do not send unsolicited marketing text messages or advertising broadcasts.
  • Message and Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your cellular service provider and individual mobile tariff plan.
  • Universal Opt-Out Instructions: You may withdraw your consent and terminate SMS delivery at any time by replying STOP to any text message received from our system. Upon receiving your STOP request, we will deliver a single automated confirmation SMS confirming your opt-out, and no further SMS messages will be transmitted to that number unless you explicitly re-enroll or text START to resume delivery.

5. Data Disclosure and Third-Party Sharing

We do not monetize your data. We disclose personal data to third parties only under strict, contractual operational necessity:

  • Designated Service Merchants: When you confirm a booking, your name, telephone number, and reservation time are transmitted exclusively to that specific merchant so they can fulfill the service.
  • Essential Technical Service Providers: We engage trusted enterprise technology providers to execute platform infrastructure under rigorous confidentiality and data protection obligations:
  • Telecommunications Gateway (SMS Delivery Providers): Used strictly to deliver transactional SMS notifications and OTP authentication tokens.
  • Messaging Platforms (LY Corporation / LINE): Used to deliver interactive booking dialogues and chatbot reminder notifications when you choose to use LINE.
  • Cloud Infrastructure and Database Hosting: Industry-standard secure cloud environments operating with enterprise-grade data encryption standards.
  • Legal and Regulatory Mandates: We may disclose personal data where required by valid court subpoenas, judicial orders, or statutory mandates issued by competent law enforcement or regulatory authorities in Taiwan.

6. Retention Period, Geographic Scope, and Security

  • Retention Period: Personal data is retained solely for the duration necessary to satisfy the purposes specified herein—typically for the lifespan of your active account or 12 months following the conclusion of a booking transaction to satisfy commercial dispute and tax accounting requirements, unless a longer statutory period is mandated by law.
  • Geographic Scope: Personal data is primarily collected, processed, and maintained in Taiwan (R.O.C.) and across reputable, ISO/IEC 27001 or SOC 2 certified cloud server infrastructures.
  • Data Security Safeguards: We implement robust administrative, technical, and physical safeguards in accordance with the Enforcement Rules of the Taiwan PDPA. These safeguards include end-to-end TLS/HTTPS encryption for data in transit, encrypted storage volumes at rest, strict role-based access control, and continuous logging to prevent data leakage, alteration, or unauthorized access.

7. Your Statutory Rights Under Taiwan PDPA

Pursuant to Article 3 of the Taiwan Personal Data Protection Act, you hold the following statutory rights concerning your personal data held by us:

  1. Right of Inquiry and Inspection: Inquire about or request to review your personal data.
  2. Right to Obtain Copies: Request a duplicate copy of your personal data records.
  3. Right of Supplementation or Rectification: Request corrections or updates to inaccurate or incomplete personal records.
  4. Right to Cease Collection, Processing, or Use: Request that we discontinue collecting, processing, or utilizing your personal data.
  5. Right of Erasure: Request the deletion of your personal data records from our active systems.

To exercise any of these statutory rights, please submit a formal request via email to our dedicated privacy contact at legal@micomdigital.com.tw. We will evaluate and process your request within the statutory timeframe mandated by the Taiwan PDPA. Please note that requesting the deletion of your mobile number or withdrawal of processing consent will restrict our ability to process automated bookings or deliver OTP authentication codes for future transactions.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to revise or update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements in our service architecture, telecom regulatory compliance, or amendments to applicable legislation. Any revisions will be published directly to this page with an updated “Last Updated” date at the top. Your continued access to or use of the Service following the publication of any modifications constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of the updated terms.
